R-2000iA/165F

The FANUC R-2000iA/165F is the 165 kg payload variant of the first-generation R-2000 series, offering the same proven slim arm design and 2,650 mm reach as the 210F at a lower payload rating suited for medium-weight spot welding guns and material handling grippers. It shares the R-2000iA family’s large installed base in North American automotive plants, with the same controller compatibility, programming environment, and parts ecosystem as the 210F variant — making it easy to integrate into existing R-J3iB plant infrastructure.

The R-2000iA/165F delivers the path accuracy and duty cycle durability that made the R-2000 family the automotive body shop standard. While its ±0.3 mm repeatability is wider than later iB and iC generations, it is fully adequate for spot welding and most transfer applications. The slim arm profile allows operation in dense weld cell layouts, and the robust joint construction supports continuous production operation at the duty cycles typical of automotive body shop automation.

The R-2000iA/165F operates on the R-J3iB controller with iPendant — a proven, widely understood platform with strong parts availability and technician familiarity across North American automotive facilities. For plants already running R-J3iB infrastructure, the 165F integrates directly into existing controller networks. FANUC’s ROBOGUIDE supports offline programming for this model, and TP program compatibility with other R-J3iB platforms simplifies program transfer and backup.
