FANUC M-20iA/20T
The FANUC M-20iA/20T is a toploader-optimized variant of the M-20iA platform, configured for overhead rail mounting with a 20 kg payload and 1,661 mm reach. The T-suffix designates an arm geometry and J1-J2 motion envelope that is optimized for loading operations from above — reaching down into machine tools, presses, or fixtures below the rail track rather than the floor-based geometry of the standard M-20iA. Toploader configurations reduce the floor footprint of machine-tending cells by mounting the robot overhead rather than beside the machine.
The M-20iA/20T shares the M-20iA’s hollow arm cable routing architecture, with utilities routed internally to protect dress packs from the coolant and swarf exposure common in machine tending environments. The overhead mounting configuration naturally positions the robot’s dress pack away from coolant spray and chip accumulation at the machine tool spindle level. The sealed joint construction provides additional protection appropriate for CNC machine tending duty.
Compatible with the R-30iB controller in the B-size cabinet with iPendant Touch, the M-20iA/20T supports the full FANUC software suite including iRVision for part orientation detection, Collision Guard for protection when entering machine tool envelopes, and servo soft float for compliant part seating. ROBOGUIDE simulation with the correct toploader mounting orientation is strongly recommended for cell layout verification prior to installation.
