CR-35iA

The FANUC CR-35iA is a collaborative 35 kg payload robot with a 1,813 mm reach — the highest payload in FANUC’s collaborative robot lineup at the time of its introduction. It is designed for heavy part handling, machine tending, and assembly tasks that require human-robot collaboration without a full safety fence, enabling operators to work alongside the robot in shared space while maintaining the payload capacity needed for real production workloads rather than lightweight demonstration tasks.

The CR-35iA’s collaborative safety is achieved through a soft, padded green exterior covering and built-in force sensing that stops or slows the robot upon contact with a person. The force sensing system monitors external contact across all axes, enabling safe operation in shared workspaces compliant with ISO/TS 15066 power and force limiting requirements. Despite the collaborative design, the CR-35iA maintains full FANUC programming and software compatibility — it is not a specialized cobot platform but a conventional FANUC robot with collaborative safety hardware.

Compatible with the R-30iB controller in the B-size cabinet with iPendant Touch, the CR-35iA supports the full FANUC software suite including Dual Check Safety for monitored zone management, iRVision for camera-guided applications, and Collision Guard. Programming is identical to standard FANUC robots, allowing existing FANUC programmers to work on the CR-35iA without retraining. ROBOGUIDE fully supports the CR-35iA for offline simulation.
