GP12
Next-Gen High-Speed 6-Axis Robot
Yaskawa GP12
The Yaskawa Motoman GP12 is the next-generation successor to the widely deployed MH12, delivering a 12 kg payload with improved repeatability at ±0.04 mm and faster axis speeds on the modern YRC1000 control platform. The GP-series designation reflects Yaskawa’s general-purpose robot family update, with mechanical and control improvements across the board versus the MH-series predecessor. For existing MH12 users, the GP12 is a direct upgrade path — same payload class, same reach, higher performance.
The GP12 features an updated mechanical architecture that achieves improved repeatability through optimized joint stiffness and reduced backlash. The sealed joint design is rated to IP54 standard with IP67 wrist, providing enhanced protection versus the MH12’s IP54 wrist rating — beneficial in machine tending applications with direct coolant exposure. Faster axis speeds across all joints reduce cycle times for high-throughput assembly, machine tending, and pick-and-place applications.
The GP12 operates on the YRC1000 controller, Yaskawa’s current-generation compact controller platform, with Smart Pendant or YRC1000 programming pendant options. The YRC1000 supports Yaskawa’s full software suite including Functional Safety Unit, MotoSight 2D and 3D vision guidance, coordinated external axis motion, and expanded fieldbus connectivity for Industry 4.0 integration. MotoSim offline programming is fully supported for GP12 installations.
Buying a GP12 from iGAM means working with a team that tests the equipment it sells. Every robot is powered on, axes are exercised through their full range of motion, and alarm history is reviewed at our Detroit warehouse before the unit ships. iGAM also operates as a service resource for customers with GP12 units already in the field — offering maintenance, reconditioning, component-level repair, and full refurbishment for robots that have been underperforming or have come out of a decommissioned cell. Contact us to discuss what level of service your application requires.
