Overview

ABB IRB 2600-12/1.65

The ABB IRB 2600-12/1.65 is a 12 kg payload robot with a 1,650 mm reach positioned between the IRB 2400 and IRB 4600 families, offering higher path accuracy and faster axis speeds than the IRB 2400 in a similarly compact form factor. Developed with arc welding and machine tending as primary applications, the IRB 2600 series was engineered specifically to provide best-in-class path performance for continuous seam welding while maintaining the versatility to handle a broad range of general industrial applications.

The IRB 2600-12/1.65 achieves high path accuracy through a stiff mechanical structure with optimized joint mass distribution and ABB’s QuickMove motion control algorithm, which maximizes path tracking performance while minimizing cycle time. The robot’s wrist design provides IP67 protection as standard, enabling direct exposure to coolant and welding environments without additional sealing measures. Floor, inverted, and tilted mounting options provide flexibility in cell layout design.

The IRB 2600-12/1.65 operates on the IRC5 controller in single, dual, or panel-mounted configurations. ABB’s full software suite applies, including Weld Guide for arc welding process control, SafeMove2 for functional safety without external relays, multitasking for concurrent process and motion execution, and RobotWare Arc for comprehensive welding management. RobotStudio offline programming enables weld path development and simulation independent of the physical installation.

iGAM offers the IRB 2600-12/1.65 at multiple condition levels depending on your application and budget. All units are inspected and run prior to shipping from our Detroit facility. For customers requiring higher confidence, our reconditioning service brings the robot through a documented multi-stage process covering axis lubrication, servo evaluation, controller servicing, and functional testing. iGAM also works with customers who own a IRB 2600-12/1.65 and need maintenance or refurbishment performed — bringing an existing robot back to reliable operation rather than replacing it outright.
