The KUKA KR 120 R2700 extra is a 120 kg payload robot with a 2,696 mm reach from KUKA’s KR QUANTEC extra series, providing heavy payload capacity in a reach class suitable for automotive spot welding, machine tending, and large-part handling. The extra designation within the QUANTEC series indicates enhanced reach, and the 120 kg payload at nearly 2.7 meters of reach covers a broad range of automotive and heavy manufacturing applications where mid-to-heavy payload capacity and extended reach are both required.

The KR QUANTEC extra platform delivers KUKA’s latest mechanical engineering for this payload class, with improved joint construction, grease retention, and load management compared to prior QUANTEC generations. IP54 standard with IP65 wrist protection is appropriate for welding and machine tending environments. The structural rigidity of the QUANTEC series maintains accuracy at full reach and payload — an important characteristic for spot welding applications where gun placement accuracy directly affects weld quality.

Operating on the KR C4 controller with smartPAD, the KR 120 R2700 extra supports KUKA’s full software suite including SafeOperation, mxAutomation, and KUKA’s welding and material handling technology packages. KUKA.OfficeLite offline programming enables cell simulation and program development. The KRL programming environment is consistent with all KR C4 robots, and the KR 120 R2700 extra can be integrated alongside KR 210 R2700 extra robots in cells requiring both payload variants.
