Arc Mate 100iB

The FANUC Arc Mate 100iB is a 6 kg payload dedicated arc welding robot with a 1,373 mm reach, designed from the ground up for continuous arc welding production rather than adapted from a general-purpose handling platform. Its hollow wrist routes the welding torch cable, gas hose, and wire liner through the interior of the arm from J3 to the torch mount, eliminating external dress packs that are vulnerable to interference and wear. This design produces consistent, repeatable torch orientation throughout the weld path — a critical factor in weld quality.

The Arc Mate 100iB’s slim arm and compact wrist allow it to reach into tight fixture openings and work close to jigs and tooling without collision risk. The sealed joint construction resists the weld spatter, fume, and heat exposure inherent in arc welding environments. The robot’s motion system is optimized for continuous arc welding path execution, with smooth velocity control that prevents the arc disturbances caused by abrupt axis changes during seam welding.

The Arc Mate 100iB operates on R-J3iB and R-30iA controllers, both of which support FANUC’s arc welding software packages including arc welding process control, seam tracking, touch sensing, and multi-pass welding functions. The iPendant provides arc welding-specific menu screens that simplify process parameter management for welding operators. The R-30iA platform further adds compatibility with external axis positioner control, enabling synchronized robot-positioner motion for complex weld seam geometries.

For customers requiring a higher level of readiness, our reconditioning service includes full axis lubrication, servo drive inspection, controller servicing, cable assessment, and cosmetic restoration — bringing the robot to a customer-specified performance standard. We also accept Arc Mate 100iB units from customers who need maintenance or repair performed on robots already in their facility, whether the issue is a failed component, degraded repeatability, or a robot coming out of a long storage period.
