KR 420 R3330
Ultra-Heavy-Payload Long-Reach Robot
KUKA KR 420 R3330
The KUKA KR 420 R3330 is an ultra-heavy-payload robot from KUKA’s KR FORTEC series, handling 420 kg over a 3,326 mm reach. It represents the upper tier of KUKA’s standard articulated robot range, designed for the heaviest automotive press room transfers, large structural steel handling, aerospace component manipulation, and industrial foundry applications where payload and reach requirements exceed the KR QUANTEC series’ limits. The FORTEC series was engineered specifically for extreme payload and duty cycle conditions.
The KR 420 R3330 is built on the KR FORTEC mechanical platform, which features reinforced axis joint construction, high-capacity servo drives, and a sealed design that resists the contamination environments of press rooms and foundries. Despite its extreme payload capacity, the FORTEC architecture maintains the programming and control compatibility of KUKA’s standard robot range, integrating into KR C4 controller infrastructure alongside lighter models. At 2,200 kg robot weight, foundation and mounting structure engineering is a critical installation planning element.
Operating on the KR C4 controller in the standard cabinet configuration with smartPAD, the KR 420 R3330 supports KUKA’s full software suite including SafeOperation for safety zone management at extreme payload and inertia levels, mxAutomation for PLC integration, and KUKA’s heavy-payload technology packages. KUKA.OfficeLite offline programming and simulation is strongly recommended before committing to the foundation engineering required for a robot of this scale.
iGAM offers the KR 420 R3330 at multiple condition levels depending on your application and budget. All units are inspected and run prior to shipping from our Detroit facility. For customers requiring higher confidence, our reconditioning service brings the robot through a documented multi-stage process covering axis lubrication, servo evaluation, controller servicing, and functional testing. iGAM also works with customers who own a KR 420 R3330 and need maintenance or refurbishment performed — bringing an existing robot back to reliable operation rather than replacing it outright.
