R-2000iA/210F
Classic Heavy-Payload 6-Axis Robot
FANUC R-2000iA/210F
The FANUC R-2000iA/210F is the first-generation 210 kg payload member of FANUC’s R-2000 family, establishing the platform that became the North American automotive spot welding standard for over two decades. With a 210 kg payload and 2,650 mm reach, it was designed specifically for carrying heavy spot welding guns through the complex, high-density weld paths of automotive body shop production. Its large installed base means technician familiarity, replacement parts, and integration expertise remain widely available.
The R-2000iA/210F features the slim arm profile that defines the R-2000 family, enabling operation in dense cell layouts with minimal interference. While repeatability at ±0.3 mm is wider than the later iB and iC generations, it is entirely adequate for spot welding and most material transfer applications. The robust joint construction was engineered for the shock loads and high duty cycles of continuous automotive production, and many iA-series robots in the field continue to operate well beyond their original projected service life.
The R-2000iA/210F operates on the R-J3iB controller — a proven, widely understood platform with strong parts availability and a large base of trained technicians. The iPendant is the standard teach pendant for this controller generation. For plants already running R-J3iB infrastructure, the iA/210F is a cost-effective option for adding capacity or replacing failed units without requiring controller standardization. FANUC’s ROBOGUIDE simulation software supports offline programming for this model.
Buying a R-2000iA/210F from iGAM means working with a team that tests the equipment it sells. Every robot is powered on, axes are exercised through their full range of motion, and alarm history is reviewed at our Detroit warehouse before the unit ships. iGAM also operates as a service resource for customers with R-2000iA/210F units already in the field — offering maintenance, reconditioning, component-level repair, and full refurbishment for robots that have been underperforming or have come out of a decommissioned cell. Contact us to discuss what level of service your application requires.
