Overview

KUKA KR 50 R2500

The KUKA KR 50 R2500 is a 50 kg payload robot with a 2,500 mm reach from KUKA’s KR QUANTEC series, positioned between the lighter KR AGILUS models and the heavier QUANTEC payload variants. The 50 kg payload with extended 2,500 mm reach covers machine tending, material handling, and light spot welding applications that need more reach than a compact robot provides but don’t require the extreme payload of the upper QUANTEC class — a practical combination for automotive assembly and tier supplier applications.

The KR 50 R2500 shares the KR QUANTEC series’ mechanical architecture and IP54/IP65 protection, making it suitable for the coolant and contamination environments common in machine tending and light press room applications. Floor and inverted mounting options provide cell layout flexibility. The QUANTEC series’ optimized mass distribution and servo drive system maintain consistent motion performance at the full 2,500 mm reach, where the mechanical leverage of the extended arm places higher demands on joint control accuracy.

Operating on the KR C4 controller with smartPAD, the KR 50 R2500 supports KUKA’s full software suite including SafeOperation functional safety, mxAutomation for PLC integration, and KUKA’s machine tending and material handling technology packages. KUKA.OfficeLite offline programming enables cell layout verification and program development independent of the physical robot. KRL programming is consistent with the full KR C4 robot family.

iGAM inspects and runs every KR 50 R2500 prior to shipping from our Detroit warehouse. For customers requiring a higher level of readiness, our reconditioning service includes full axis lubrication, servo drive inspection, controller servicing, cable assessment, and cosmetic restoration — bringing the robot to a customer-specified performance standard. We also accept KR 50 R2500 units from customers who need maintenance or repair performed on robots already in their facility, whether the issue is a failed component, degraded repeatability, or a robot coming out of a long storage period.
