IRB 2400/16
Heavy-Duty 6-Axis Industrial Robot
ABB IRB 2400/16
The ABB IRB 2400/16 is the higher-payload variant of the IRB 2400 series, delivering a 16 kg payload on the same 1,550 mm reach and proven mechanical platform as the IRB 2400/10. The increased payload accommodates heavier end-of-arm tooling, larger grippers, and additional sensors that would approach or exceed the 10 kg rating of the standard variant — extending the IRB 2400 platform’s applicability to heavier machine tending, deburring, and material handling tasks without requiring a larger robot.
The IRB 2400/16 inherits all the mechanical and reliability characteristics of the IRB 2400 series: robust arm construction, IP54 standard with IP67 wrist, well-documented maintenance requirements, and a large global service network. The slight increase in payload versus the 10 kg variant comes with a marginally wider repeatability specification, appropriate for the material handling and machine tending applications that typically require the higher payload. The robot’s mounting flexibility — floor and inverted — supports a range of cell configurations.
The IRB 2400/16 operates on the IRC5 controller, sharing full software compatibility with the IRB 2400/10 and all other IRC5-based ABB robots. SafeMove2 functional safety, multitasking, collision detection, and the full ABB application software suite are supported. RobotStudio offline programming provides cell layout simulation and program development. The FlexPendant provides the programming interface, with programming syntax consistent across all IRC5-based ABB robots.
Every IRB 2400/16 that passes through iGAM’s Detroit facility is powered on and run through a full axis evaluation before it ships. Our team reviews alarm history, checks battery backup status, and documents the condition of the controller, teach pendant, and cables. What you receive is a robot that has been verified operational — not simply warehoused and resold. iGAM also offers reconditioning services for customers who own a IRB 2400/16 in need of maintenance, servo evaluation, or refurbishment to restore it to peak performance.
