M-20IA

The FANUC M-20iA is one of the most widely deployed 6-axis industrial robots in North American manufacturing — and for good reason. With a 20 kg payload, 1,811 mm reach, and ±0.08 mm repeatability, it strikes a balance between speed, precision, and compact footprint that few robots in its class can match. It’s equally at home on an assembly line, a machine tending cell, or a material handling application, making it one of the most versatile and cost-effective robots iGAM regularly stocks.

One of the M-20iA’s most practical design features is its fully hollow upper arm and wrist. Cables, air lines, and other utilities route cleanly through the interior of the arm rather than along the outside, which dramatically reduces wear on dress packages and simplifies integration in confined cell layouts. A dedicated shelf on the back of the upper arm allows peripheral equipment — cameras, valves, EOAT wiring — to be mounted directly on the robot, further streamlining the integration engineer’s job and enabling more accurate offline simulation.

The R-30iA controller pairs well with the M-20iA, offering a proven, reliable control architecture that system integrators and maintenance teams across the industry are already familiar with. The R-30iA supports a full range of FANUC software options including iRVision (built-in vision), Force Sensing, and Collision Guard, with an iPendant interface that makes programming accessible even for teams newer to FANUC. Parts availability for the R-30iA remains strong in the used market, keeping long-term support costs manageable.
